Softball Final Southmont Softball def. Frankfort 16-6 in 6 innings! Mounties crush 3HR’s in the win as Dara Watson hits a pair and Kami Dinius hits a long ball! Mounties improve to 3-4 and 2-2 in the SAC!

Southmont won 16-6 over Frankfort Wednesday. Dara Watson and Kami Dinius both homered for the Mounties. Dara had a pair of homers and 2 singles, and drove in 4 runners. Mallory Mason also had 2 hits and 4 RBI. Jenna Grino had 3 hits and 3 RBI.

The Mounties defeated North Montgomery 34-2 Saturday. Kyndale Rice pitched a complete game and allowed only 4 hits. She had 4 hits including a pair of singles, a double and a home run. Jenna Grino was 5-5. Dara Watson was 3-4 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI. Catie Himes also had a HR.

Southmont lost to Western Boone 7-6 in extra innings Monday. Chelsea Veatch had 3 hits, including a homer, and drove in 2 runs. Dara Watson had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Kami Dinius and Catie Hines also had 2 hits each. The Mounties travel to WB Tuesday for a 5:30 game.

Congratulations to Senior Catcher Dara Watson who was selected as a member of the Softball Coaches of Indiana Association Academic All-State First Team. Dara was Southmont’s MVP and Captain this season and also excelled in the Classroom.

We lost a great Wabash Man this Past weekend, Nick Casad.  We ask that you keep Nick’s loved ones in your thoughts. Nick will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Nick.
