We tried taping the iPhone 12 to a cheap drone to do some LIDAR scanning... It didn't work out so well.

Demo of our new ML based monocular ( no LiDAR required ) 3d capture mode in 3d Scanner App ™ . It's pretty inaccurate / rough compared to LiDAR, and only works indoors, but it's free. Available in version 2.0.17 for iPhone 13/14 devices.
