All sport coaches love athletes who want to COMPETE. If you're a high school athlete, you should compete as much as possible--that's how you get better at it. For those interested, check out the info meeting for Winter Track & Field Wednesday afternoon at 2:45 in X304 #RollEags

Integrity is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Discipline is a choice. Consistency is a choice. The sooner you make these choices, the further you will go.

As a coach, stop complaining about how uncoachable your players are. It is your responsibility to help your players improve their attitudes.

Three reasons why you should put the team first and be a good teammate: 1. You’ll experience deeper happiness through team success. 2. Your coaches will speak highly of you, which helps advance your career. 3. It’ll improve your character and help you in areas outside of sports.

These are the same types of questions that college coaches have for HS/club coaches. Your playing ability is only a very small part of what makes you a worthwhile recruit.

Greatness is a sacrifice. It’s sacrificing personal glory for the good of the team. It’s sacrificing the things that get in the way of winning. It’s sacrificing your comfort. Being great requires a series of sacrifices, but when you love something, you sacrifice for it.

All EMLCA Coaches: @MIAA has announced that the Boys Lax cut off date is Thur 5/26, not Thur 6/1. Apparently, with little communication, the MIAA moved the date to 5-26. If you scheduled any games between 5-27 and 6-1 you need to find a new date. Please help spread the word.

Excellence is what separates good from great. Excellence is the byproduct of constantly learning, getting better, working hard, and never being satisfied with anything less than the best. The magic of excellence is that there is no magic; just hard work.
