My reason for having read world religious texts is not really about understanding the divine, but rather understanding humans, and what they think the divine is. That human search for meaning. To understand the intrinsic desires and fears and understandings, across cultures.

I don't think someone can be complete in their worldview, if they have not studied other worldviews, to understand and compare/contrast them. Otherwise, everything is in a vacuum. To arrive at Truth is to compare a view, with alternative views, in detail, and see how it holds.
