Waze is basically catnip to anyone prone to this sort of delusional route assessment.

Nowhere is this worse, in my experience, than NYC, a city with a deep culture of impatience and Secret Knowledge. (Which is delightful in many instances! But fails hard here.)

So you get a route that avoids 5 minutes of slow traffic, instead leading you through 30 stop signs and a left turn across 6 lanes or some shit.
