Our second week in Longyearbyen, we are exploring the nearest peaks and glacial valleys. The most wonderful thing is to be able to go on a mountain hike after work and not have to worry about daylight! 🌞

Sometimes one field trip later means hundreds of hours spent in front of a computer to compile the results. But it's probably worth it... #GlacialLakes

We did it! On 12 July, we set sail from Longyearbyen to drill boreholes for the installation of thermal strings in the ground. At Calypsobyen station we measured at 5 m, at Petuniabukta at 7 m and at Kaffiøyra as much as 10 m! We are now waiting for the first results... #CRIOS

Ablation season in full swing! While waiting for the plane we had the opportunity to observe the neighbouring glaciers.... They look finer and finer every year....
