In the last 25 years, wages for college graduates have risen 28%. Wages for teachers during the same period, only 2%. We’re calling on states and districts to increase teacher pay. It’s time our teachers saw the support and pay they deserve. Livable wage = Respect.

What’s a great healthy teacher tip? I’ll start… Set boundaries: Teaching can be demanding, and it's important to set healthy boundaries to avoid burnout. Learn to say NO when necessary, delegate tasks when possible, and prioritize your workload to avoid overloading yourself.

Teachers, Don’t be discouraged if you do things differently than others. It’s ok to learn from others but don’t think you’re wrong if you do it differently. Everyone has their own talents & passions. Just bring your best self. That's what your students need.

Teachers, never let family time be shortchanged. If something happened to you, they would replace you fairly quickly at school but you're irreplaceable at home.

Had an amazing day directing the ILMEA District 8 Junior Jazz Band! They were such great kids and worked super hard all day! We had a blast, and they KILLED it at their performance this afternoon. Thanks to Ken and Marybeth for the invite! What a great day for music education!

Had a great weekend of music! Guest conducting at Fremont middle school on Friday and then judging at the OQ Band Jazz Festival! Lots of great music being made out there!
