This morning, our four team members and three canines returned home safely after a 17 day deployment for the Texas floods. We are grateful for their hard work and professionalism as they supported the search and recovery efforts. Fairfax County Fire/Rescue FEMA

After 20 days in Kerr County, Texas, our 45-member team—alongside three search canines—has returned home. They searched thousands of acres and miles of riverbanks, working tirelessly to support flood relief efforts and assist local agencies in the search for missing individuals.

Last night, I joined the King George Strait & Garth Brooks as they raised over $6 million for Texas flood victims. Texas will recover—by God’s grace & our grit. With this support, homes will be rebuilt, communities restored, & peace returned.

The Dragon Bravo Fire is once again going huge this afternoon in the Grand Canyon of Arizona. This first photo was taken just minutes ago. The fire will likely be over 60,000 acres with this type of activity again today. Yesterday, the pyrocumulus column reached over 24,000 ft.

The entire U.S. west coast is under a tsunami watch following the M 8.7 quake off the coast of Russia. All of Hawaii is under a tsunami warning. Earthquakes over 8.0 magnitude are extremely rare and destructive.
