Sorghum scientists it is time to start writing your abstracts for 21centurysorghum 2023 Montpellier in Montpellier France. Sorghum science in a fantastic location what's not to like google.com/url?q=https://…

Great talk on breeding for cold tolerant sorghum by Steffen from Universität Gießen 21centurysorghum 2023 Montpellier . Very excited to start new collaborative research between Universität Gießen and UQ News through our new PhD training program on accelerating genetic gain. PhD scholarships now advertised!

Such a fantastic opening plenary by James Schnable on Day 4 of 21centurysorghum 2023 Montpellier highlighting multiple exciting research activities with the overarching principle of democratisation of data resources for the community to use and use again! Awesome work James. #sorghum23

David Jordan highlights complexity of partial fertility in sorghum. Breeders typically manage this through conservative crossing but this has consequnces incl reduced genetic gain through low genetic variance in females. Genomic selection provides options to address this! #sorghum23

Excited to start our new USDA-funded project to develop forage sorghum hybrids adapted to the Upper Midwest with Marisol Berti (NDSU), Sara Bauder (SDSU), Christopher Graham (SDSU), and Matt Akins (USDA-ARS). Our recent publication in The Plant Phenome Journal using HTP to characterize dynamics of sorghum canopy architecture and growth rates with Juan Sebastián Panelo Pat Schnable L Tang and Yin Bao.

Our The Plant Phenome Journal article featured in CSA news. Research in collaboration with Pat Schnable Juan Sebastián Panelo L Tang and Yin Bao.

Proud to have Juan Sebastián Panelo in my team. Congratulations Juan!!!

We celebrate the successful oral defense of Juan Sebastián Panelo who obtained his PhD in Plant Breeding at Iowa State Agronomy. 👏👏🎉🎉 It was an exciting and very productive journey!! We wish him all the best in the next step in his career as a postdoc with Charlie Messina at Univ of Florida
