David Jordan highlights complexity of partial fertility in sorghum. Breeders typically manage this through conservative crossing but this has consequnces incl reduced genetic gain through low genetic variance in females. Genomic selection provides options to address this! #sorghum23

We celebrate the successful oral defense of Juan Sebastián Panelo who obtained his PhD in Plant Breeding at Iowa State Agronomy. 👏👏🎉🎉 It was an exciting and very productive journey!! We wish him all the best in the next step in his career as a postdoc with Charlie Messina at Univ of Florida
