I think of the amazing work.of Islington Swifts every day as I hear and see the swifts overhead. This year in flocks of maybe 20, such a cheering sight!

Red_Birder Save Our Swifts Islington Swifts London Bird Club Thereβs been so many this year π€

Judith Palmer Islington Swifts I haven't heard ours for several days, and I really miss their calls. Travel well, little friends. π’π¦ββ¬

Judith Palmer They're drifting away for sure, but still a couple over Finsbury Park yesterday evening, and you can usually see them at @E17Wetlands until early September :-)

Islington Swifts Judith Palmer @E17Wetlands Five still over Huddleston Road, Tufnell Park yesterday evening

Judith Palmer Reuben Braddock @E17Wetlands There were three birds over Finsbury on Tuesday evening, maybe a fledging youngster joining its parents?? It's nice to think so. All quiet since though, if I spot another this year it will be a bonus :-)

Three Swift over my house in Tufnell Park this evening. Not sure if local birds or not - I see some most evenings but not at any other time of the day π€·ββοΈ Islington Swifts #londonbirds

Red_Birder Islington Swifts I don't expect anyone next year, but I hope they will notice it then and nest the following year. π€There are a few swift boxes in my neighbourhood, so I get a swift show every summer. Hopefully two more breeding pairs once they see my boxes. π
