The original beast from the east was pretty devastating for shags. Currently a 4 metre swell in the outer Forth which will prevent them feeding. As Calum Scott 🏴🇪🇺 says please report any ringed birds #ornithology BTO Former NatureScot account

Celebrating #WomenInScience Day the #LighthouseCrew are excited to announce the launch of #LHScienceWomen. In 2021 we’ll be highlighting women that are a key part of the past-present-future research and teaching Lighthouse Field Stn - Watch this space!

Lighthouse Field Stn are celebrating #WomenInScience Day with a virtual screening spotlighting many of the inspiring #LHScienceWomen who have been integral to our science, research and teaching over the last 30+ years - Join us here abdn.ac.uk/lighthouse/sta… #IWDABDN #IWD2021 #WomenInSTEM

It's always inspiring to see positive change in a landscape. John Muir Trust dug out this fascinating photo. By reducing grazing pressure from sheep & increasing deer management, native woodland along one of Scotland's best known glens is regenerating to a more natural state.

#LHScienceWomen Dr Kate Brookes carried out her PhD Lighthouse Field Stn and is now lead marine mammal advisor to the Scottish Government @marinescotland. If you’d like to follow in Kate’s footsteps read about her advice here➡️ abdn.ac.uk/lighthouse/sta… #WomenInScience #IWD2021 #IWDabdn

#LHScienceWomen Dr Sofie Van Parijs has spent her career studying underwater sounds🐳🐬🐟🔊👂 Starting with a PhD Lighthouse Field Stn she is now the Passive Acoustic Program Lead NOAAFish_NEFSC Find out about Sofie’s #WomenInScience role here➡️ abdn.ac.uk/lighthouse/sta… #IWD2021 #IWDABDN

The climate emergency and impending biodiversity collapse give added reason to expand woodland across Scotland.
