A cache of freedom of information responses on interactions between GMC, HEIW and others regarding Medical Associate Professionals. A vital read that justifies many doctor concerns about this. Diolch to those who did the work. paprojectwatch.wordpress.com/wp-content/upl… Some highlights 🧵 1/

Always grateful for presents from returning holiday makers. But I’m not entirely sure my sister didn’t just steal this from the breakfast buffet….

These 700 would have been coming towards the end of training soon. Able to help deliver care for huge elective backlog. #NHSWorkforcePlanning

We are in an anaesthetic workforce crisis yet there are many anaesthetic trainees who will be unable to continue their training - talented, motivated doctors who our profession needs. They are being let down time and time again and it is appalling.

Brilliant video explaining issues with the current way that associate roles are being implemented. This is not against individuals, it’s just trying to gain some degree of order and safety when the establishment has failed to do its job.

Consult your members. Include the following question: Should the RCP adopt the BMA’s Safe Scope Of Practice? It’s really very simple. I know borrowing institutional reputation is en vogue atm. So borrow some of the BMA’s, because yours is in the toilet.

Anaesthetists in training can safely undertake a great deal of ‘solo’ work at distant supervision. Both documents, released by Association of Anaesthetists Association of Anaesthetists Trainees and Royal College of Anaesthetists help give guidance on maximising patient safety, team success, and educational benefit. Dr Linda Dykes @[email protected] Balazs ExplosiveEnema Adrian Boyle I think as per previous thread Dr Dykes there's an EM lens to this that obviously I don't fully appreciate and might never be able to. But they're both fundamentally forms of [non-doctor] -> [course that's not medical school] -> [doing what doctor does but not called doctor]

GMC has refused my FoI request: 'Please advise the source of the funds to be used to fight legal cases brought by the British Medical Association (BMA) and Anaesthetists United challenging GMC's regulation of PAs and AAs.' Please would someone else submit the same request?

Joe Pick (@isitsleepytime) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Who is funding the case on behalf of GMC? For an organisation that will end careers based on dishonesty they seem awfully keen to hide the truth?
