Very horrific and devastating loss for Dr. Samantha Woolery's family, Morehouse School of Medicine, and beyond! Please considering donating to the GoFundMe established by Dr. Samantha Woolery's daughter, if you are so resourced. Link: gofundme.com/f/help-honor-d…

The people who work in Title IX offices are empathetic, honest people who want to help. But Title IX is set up to protect the university- not the victim. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you can pivot to self-preservation mode.

Take care of yourself. My anxiety during the abuse was enough to require medication, and taking advantage of in-house mental health services was helpful. Also- therapist notes from these sessions were able to be used as evidence in the case

Lastly- don’t do what I did and assume that this sort of abuse is the “price to be paid” for a ticket to academia. It’s on all of us to root out abuses of power and up to institutions to create structures wherein professors do not have so much direct influence over mentees

This is awesome. Many children with glasses are told they can’t play certain sports. They are not even given the opportunity to try. To see an athlete at the top of his sport proudly wearing glasses is so important. Representation matters.

On the interview trail, I asked every program “can you tell me about a time a resident had a life crisis and how the program responded?” I’m watching my program right now step up for me big time and I couldn’t be more grateful

What made you choose this path? “I'm passionate about equitable access to inclusive, trauma-informed healthcare, and knew the best next step in achieving this goal after my MSPH was pursuing medical education.” Ishita Srivastava, MSPH, #NYITCOM Class of 2027 #nyitcomMyPathToDO

I've been dealing with some pretty serious dental work lately, and when my dentist walked in the room, I asked, "Are you sick of me yet?" He looked me in the eyes and said, "I'm proud of you that you came in today. I know that it's scary for you, but you did it anyway." 🥺
