Gulp. Nervous & excited. I’ll never get used to seeing my face declaiming on screen but the cinematography and wildlife footage by Passion Pictures is astonishing. And great perfs from my heroes Derek Gow Frans Vera, Ted Green &, of course, Charlie Burrell

Happy World Rewilding Day! I’m so thrilled that the wonderful ANGELA HARDING has illustrated my children’s version of Wilding. Hope it will bring the wonders of Rewilding to a new generation - with ideas about how we can all make space for nature.

Elect Conservatives again = continue the decade-long policy disaster that is the badger cull. I’ve read the consultation doc and I’m shocked by its dishonesty. Can’t quite believe govt scientists are putting their names to this. They should be ashamed. theguardian.com/environment/20…

whitestorkproject.org/live-cam-feed/ So excited to share our stork nest cam live from Knepp Wilding Last night the female laid her first egg. Amazing how tender her mate was, bringing soft bedding. Hope you enjoy this unfolding story. It's a soothing watch - balm for the soul!

Now a new book by Isabella Tree is about the Knepp Wilding estate. “It really is such a story of hope that I think people find it quite galvanising.. People say it doesn’t answer the problem of . We can say now, categorically, it does.”

My thoughts on the urgent need for better pesticide regulation in the UK. RT if you agree.

Really important research from Dave Goulson. There are really effective herbal solutions for dog fleas, as there are for lice in human hair. Why poison our pets, us, our natural water systems and the environment? All these chemicals need to be challenged.

Study at Knepp Wilding indicates more is stored belowground in scrubland than current models predict – methods to calculate storage in these habitats need further refinement!

So proud of our daughter Nancy Burrell ‘s first published paper. Her first salvo in an important piece of work that shows the value of for carbon storage as well as biodiversity

“.. the temperate forest biome was historically heterogeneous (>50% open) rather than uniformly dense, which is consistent with the dependency of much of contemporary European biodiversity on open vegetation and light woodland.” Pine, oak, flowering shrubs - all need light!

Grrrrrr…..when will the demonisation of ragwort ever end and common sense prevail? It’s a myth that refuses to lie down, even amongst so-called nature-lovers.

River buffers 💧🌳

If every river had this along its length, the improvement to our biodiversity, climate resilience, water quality and water security would be absolutely huge.
Probably the biggest reversal of nature depletion we could achieve.

and it’s just so simple.

It's a bold choice to stand in front of a sign saying 'long-term decisions for a brighter future', to claim 'irony isn't lost on me' and then go on to announce a massive road building programme in the midst of a climate emergency.

Disrupts our climate. Makes people sick. Pollutes air and rivers. Hazardous to manufacture and transport. Damages soils. Harms wild species. Puts small farms out of business. Devastates rural communities. So why do farmers go on using nitrogen fertiliser?

This is cynical beyond belief.
The PM is pretending to halt frightening proposals that simply do not exist.
He is doing it to turn the environment into a US-style political wedge issue - something the UK has avoided all my political life.

They tax us to subsidise a farming system that makes crops sick. Pesticides used to control disease end up in food and make us sick too. So they tax us again to pay NHS to treat us. ‘We follow science,’ says Farm Minister Mark Spencer. But whose science, I wonder?
