Study at Knepp Wilding indicates more #carbon is stored belowground in scrubland than current models predict – methods to calculate storage in these habitats need further refinement! Find out more: besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… Nancy Burrell Elizabeth S Jeffers OxLEL
So proud of our daughter Nancy Burrell ‘s first published paper. Her first salvo in an important piece of work that shows the value of #rewilding for carbon storage as well as biodiversity
Really important research from Dave Goulson. There are really effective herbal solutions for dog fleas, as there are for lice in human hair. Why poison our pets, us, our natural water systems and the environment? All these chemicals need to be challenged.
March 6 - do join me and the legendary Angela Harding who has brought Wilding to life with her stunning illustrations. We’ll be talking rewilding, woodcuts and the joy of working on this book together, March 6. And celebrating with some wonderful food and wine Knepp Wilding Kitchen & Shop
whitestorkproject.org/live-cam-feed/ So excited to share our stork nest cam live from Knepp Wilding Last night the female laid her first egg. Amazing how tender her mate was, bringing soft bedding. Hope you enjoy this unfolding story. It's a soothing watch - balm for the soul!
Elect Conservatives again = continue the decade-long policy disaster that is the badger cull. I’ve read the consultation doc and I’m shocked by its dishonesty. Can’t quite believe govt scientists are putting their names to this. They should be ashamed. theguardian.com/environment/20…
Gulp. Nervous & excited. I’ll never get used to seeing my face declaiming on screen but the cinematography and wildlife footage by Passion Pictures is astonishing. And great perfs from my heroes Derek Gow Frans Vera, Ted Green &, of course, Charlie Burrell
Many cinemas are also showing the Q&A I recorded with Isabella Tree Knepp Wilding straight after the main film Check it out...
Fascinating trip to Knepp Wilding today. Including to the facilities they’ve developed to sell their meat - which looked amazing.
Regarding the recent application by National Farmers' Union to allow 'emergency' use of neonics on sugar beet, this image explains the problem: most of the pesticide goes into soils, leaches into waterways, & is taken up by wildflowers & hedgerows. Only 5% in crop. nature.com/articles/natur…
