Today on being an international student I keep on confusing the words linen and Lenin.. I am trying to say my trousers are breathable, not communist

Happy to contribute to this new preprint by Elena Pugacheva, Victor V. Lobanenkov 🇺🇦 & Co. What determines differential CTCF binding, beyond DNA methylation and TF/nucleosome competition? Answer: a specific nucleosome downstream of CTCF motif. Directionality matters! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Happy to release this paper in collaboration with Pankaj Gautam and sudipta sinha, with contribution from our IsabellaC, devoted to predicting p53-dependent cell transitions from thermodynamic models pubs.aip.org/aip/jcp/articl…. Our last release before new year kicks in🍎🍯

Bioinformatics Jump Scare🎃 Turns out the ~20 bash files I was counting on to run smoothly didn’t produce any output. They've been running (or not?) for WEEKS. I'm visiting a haunted house today, but nothing can top the horror of silent errors. Happy Halloween, I guess… 🫠

Feeling unmotivated? Pretend you're Rory Gilmore heading to study. Crisp autumn air, stacks of books, and way too much coffee might just help get you in character ☕️🍂

Thank you very much Pancreatic Cancer UK for supporting our research! In collaboration with Andrea Mohr, Ralf Zwacka and Greg Brooke, we are developing a new generation of liquid biopsies for early cancer detection based on the analysis of cell-free DNA 🧬

Not science-related, but I went go-karting for the first time ever and somehow placed 3rd out of 17! I don’t even know how to drive—just vibes, speed, and a little accidental chaos (sorry to those I bumped off the track 😆🏎️) PS is it a good CV example of determination? 💪😂

I gave a talk at Pint of Science this year!! 2 anxiety attacks, 1 tequila, 1 espresso martini later... I made it. 😅 Talked liquid biopsies, cell death & early diagnosis. Grateful, tired, buzzing. 7 yrs ago I sat in the crowd—now I’m on stage. Full circle 🫶 #PintOfScience2025

Last week I hosted a journal club+workshop on reading academic papers. We shared challenges, tips, and went through 2 papers together (one for skimming, one for deep reading). It was a great reminder that small shifts (in practice&mentality) can make all work feel more manageable
