When we say #MentalHealthResearchMatters, we really mean it! Here's why: "We found that many children with common mental health problems can achieve good outcomes from brief forms of treatment - this has huge potential for increasing access to effective care." Cathy Creswell 💙

Today is World Mental Health Day. We don't treat mental health as a global priority, but we should: it's big, bad, very neglected, and surprisingly tractable. Here what's you need to know.🧵I'm drawing heavily on this Happier Lives Institute 🌻 report happierlivesinstitute.org/report/global-…

Reading Denny Borsboom Measuring the Mind. I’ve never read such a clear articulation of psychometric theory, and never before have I doubted common methods so completely. Thanks. I think.

A nice read by Eiko Fried addressing current barriers in the MH field; diagnostic literalism & reductionism. The paper proposes conceptualizing MH as outcomes from systems of biological, psychological, & social elements. BTW, thanks for the #RDoC mention! doi.org/10.1177/096372…
