So raise your hand if you are surprised that inflation is up.. A large hike on Employers NIC, an even more mammoth rise in min wage, and people are surprised that prices of goods, especially in retail, hospitality and leisure are rising fast. The economically illiterate cheered

So when Labour came to power they immediately cancelled winter fuel allowance, slapped vat on private school fees and have flirted with cutting pip and disability benefits, to name a few items. Their reasoning for this being that the tories had created a £20Bn black hole.

Another fantastic school eventually broken by this government's spiteful attacks. This is/was a school charging modest fees, to normal working people in a northern shire. Whilst Labour harp on about the embossed stationery, AstroTurf and new pools of the true elitist schools

Here we have today's example of the society we've become. A school in a mining town in a northern shire closes, with ~500 pupils now looking for another school, hundreds of children torn from their friendship groups, those due to start gcses in five weeks now facing massive

There appears to be a lot of discussion regarding the online safety bill. Here's my (long winded) take: Children absolutely need protecting online. The world we live in now is both far removed from the one I grew up in (I was born late 70s) and also exactly the same. Children

So @samfr has now acknowledged the data used for his hatchet job is actually from January, when the policy had been in effect for just a matter of days, but states this is enough to give a good sense of the impact... "A good sense"? From the figures of those who decided not to

A thoroughly well written thread on this matter. Lots of questions remain unanswered, and it appears the block button is doing overtime rather than any attempt what so ever to answer them.

Absolutely awful marketing technique from PLouise. An email arrives looking like an order has been placed, which you haven't, making you think you've had some sort of fraud on your account. It is only when scrolling down to the bottom it is then revealed this isn't an order at

If I'm correct, Lewis Goodall has no children. In which case he is in absolutely no position what so ever to judge or comment on what parents want for their children. Like most parents on the planet, I would run through a brick wall for my children. I will do whatever it

I really don't buy into this "I was given incorrect advice" excuse. Or the "due to the complicated nature of the trust" defense. 40 seconds on Google and the answer is easy enough to find for anyone, on the governments own website! So we are expected to believe that somebody

Are you kidding? She has, with the help of Reeves, presided over the purposeful destruction of some of the best examples of education provision in our country. Schools providing first class SEND support, excellent opportunities for children of all backgrounds. She has sewn

In another frankly pathetic display of petty vindictiveness, the education secretary is set to recover a whopping £4.3m from private schools. Enough to fund state education for five minutes of the year. Five minutes. If meddling with processes and departments to "save" 0.006%
