Thinking of planting? 🌽🌾 Don’t let a late freeze take you by surprise. This K-State Agronomy eUpdate shows freeze risks after April 1 by region—some spots have >90% risk still! 📊 bit.ly/4jg5J0y

👉 Friendly reminder that most sprinkler nozzles need replacing every 10K–12K hours. It's just one of the tips from this must-read irrigation checklist in the K-State Agronomy eUpdate. 🔍 Read it here: bit.ly/3RCFTbe #WaterEfficiency #CenterPivot #AgNews

It was a great week to be soil sampling the #CSUTAPS field & with help from great student interns. As we manage farming operations & technologies thru the season, #TAPS offers CSU College of Agricultural Sciences students tremendous learning opportunities, from field work to data collection and analysis.

Great opportunity to share the #TAPSNetwork #MasterIrrigator programs & impacts at the 2025 Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute Global Conference in Lincoln, NE, thanks to Drew Gholson panel presentation of MSU Master Irrigator, UNL-TAPS Rintu Sen research poster presentation & IIC conference exhibit.

8 years of data from UNL-TAPS sprinkler corn competitions in North Platte shows opportunity for producers to boost yields & reduce N loss from the soil rooting zone by optimizing irrigation decisions. Presented in student poster competition at 2025 Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute by Rintu Sen

#CSUTAPS planted 75 plots 5/2/25 with 15 different corn hybrids selected by competition teams. Hybrid CRMs ranged from 92 to 104 days, & seeding rates 20K to 35K. See the 1st installment of a NEW IIC-led quarterly column in Irrigation Today “Your Best Practice.” It features a story on combining field observation, NDVI drone imagery, & catch can testing to solve & head off irrigation issues in the #CSUTAPS field. tinyurl.com/mwmcxf64

CO Water Center is funding our proposal w/ Tian Guo, CSU faculty in CSU Warner College and Joel Schneekloth ! The work uses #CSUTAPS #KSUTAPS & #UNLTAPS program data to explore relationships between input use efficiency & farm profitability. CSU College of Agricultural Sciences tinyurl.com/33mz4cmz
