Hi City of Cape Town Are there any plans to pedestrianise parts of the CBD this summer? Safe space for social distancing, non-motorised transport, outdoor dining could all be achieved on streets like Long Street Association & BreeStreetLife for example.

The 1m passing law is only legislated in the Western Cape Gov ,nowhere else in SA.With lane widths of around 3m and a sedan being around 2m wide,there’s not much space left for a cyclist. Daylin Mitchell ,please consider increasing the passing distance to 1,5m. Premier Alan Winde

Great news that the ban of cycling on the promenade is scrapped. Think we should still chat about removing 1 out of the 6 lanes for cars on beach road Geordin Hill-Lewis :D Safely connecting the foreshore to Bakoven by bicycle.
