I'm so proud of the stories produced by my fellow ProPublicans 💙 & I believe a strong contract will help ensure the future of that important and impactful work. Here's where we stand, a year(!) into having a Guild and negotiating for our first contact:

It's been one year since @ProPublicaGuild launched, and I'm so proud of what our unit has accomplished together. But we're nowhere near the contract we deserve. In the interest of transparency (my favorite core value of @ProPublica!), I'm sharing our Guild's one-year update 👇

I joined our union’s bargaining team because I wanted to be part of creating a better ProPublica. Unfortunately, management has made that process difficult, fighting us on even the most basic proposals. This is not where we should be a year in.

Happy birthday, @ProPublicaGuild! I'm proud of our union's dedication to ensuring we live up to our values as a public service newsroom, including by winning recognition for a wall-to-wall unit and continuing to advocate for a contract with core protections like just cause.

I've been constantly✨inspired✨by my colleagues who've poured so much of their personal time into our negotiations this past year. Their work+passion demonstrate a long-term commitment to ProPublica's impactful journalism, to our industry+nonprofit news--& to one another.

I'm immensely proud of the union we formed a year ago at ProPublica. It's been harder than we expected to settle on a contract that is just and creates a fair workplace for us all, but I am inspired everyday by my colleagues as we stand together to push for one.

Looking forward to the day we have a contract, so all of us on both sides - workers and management - only have to focus on one thing: doing our jobs and producing the amazing journalism @ProPublica that we're all so proud to be a part of
