According to the new Nat. Geosci. article, the live biomass carbon sink of the boreal forests is 0.37 Gt C/y.

Meanwhile, the carbon losses from the Canadian forest fires only have been 0.5 Gt C this year.

We have lost the whole boreal carbon sink!
