(3 of 3) Our strike and the work of our bargaining team clearly showed we would not accept anything less than a contract that recognized our value. When we fight, we WIN ✊

"Ontario is our richest and most populated province, and yet students from India alone channelled more money – $2-billion, in fact – into its higher-education system in 2023 than the province did." Breznitz Dan

Everybody wants poor countries to grow, but we also want to base policy on credible research. My article in Asterisk synthesizes five facts from the careful empirical lit on firms in developing countries – which IMO overturns the aid world's focus on small businesses. 🧵/

Social media is not reality: -While only 3 % of active accounts are toxic, they produce 33% of all content! -A mere 0.1 % of users share 80% of fake news -74 % of all online conflicts are started in just 1 % of communities. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The printing press didn’t just share ideas—it fueled a wave of witch hunts across Europe. New research led by SFI’s Kerice Doten-Snitker (Kerice Doten-Snitker) shows that social networks & a witch-hunting manual played a key role in the persecutions that resulted in the deaths of some 45,000

One of the many uplifting stories behind today’s (richly deserved) Nobel in protein prediction is the steadfast 50-year commitment by governments around the world to support the generation of freely-available, high-quality data for genes and proteins. Taxpayers, take a bow!
