Isle of Wight County remains under a Flood Watch until Sunday evening and a Coastal Flood Warning until Sunday evening.

Special Weather Alert: Torrential rains of 1 to 2 inches with potential localized flooding. If the road ahead of you is flooded,TURN AROUND.

As of 12:30pm, South Church St in Smithfield is closed at Smithfield Station due to tidal flooding, likely for several hours.

Stay alert and cautious while driving. There are temporary road closures due to tidal and flash flooding on secondary roads.

A Town Hall Meeting will be held with the Virginia Fire Services Board at 7:00 p.m. on October 19th in the Board of Supervisors Room.

A Community Meeting for the Windsor Election District will be held at 7:00 p.m. on October 22, 2015 in the Windsor Community Building.

Isle of Wight County's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Wreath Hanging Ceremony will be December 3, 2015 at 5pm at the Courthouse Complex.

Route 17, Carrollton Blvd is shut down in both directions due to a 5 vehicle accident. Expect major delays in this area.

The earlier accident has been cleared and all lanes of Rt 17 in Carrollton are now open.

VDOT will close Route 630 Bridge (Lawrence Drive) for superstructure repairs beginning today at 8 a.m. The closure will last for two weeks.
