Great honor and joy to discuss about venous congestion with Philippe Rola Eduardo Kattan #RogerioPassos at International Symposium on POCUS - An independent initiative of mine to raise awareness about POCUS applications!

Happy to share that we will start the recruitment of patients for our ONCO-MINS study - a observational study that aims to evaluate the prevalence of myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery in oncologic patients and its association with outcomes!

A rare finding today. PBS, caused by bacterias such as Providencia spp., Escherichia coli, Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Morganella spp., and Enterococcus spp. It is related to tryptophan metabolism

Once again showing that venous congestion = venous afterload, not hypervolemia. Patient with normal heart developed hypoxemia & hypotension → diagnosed with pneumothorax and VEXUS 2 signs (couldn’t get hepatic vein w/ ECG, but waveform looked sinusoidal).

3.Ask the IVC the right question — Size doesn’t matter; context does. 4.POCUS is an extension of clinical exam — Not a protocol. A thinking probe-powered stethoscope for physiology. 5.Fluids are drugs — Indication. Dose. Route. Timing. Stop. De-prescribe.

Discussed the role of POCUS in ICU patients with AKI: from assessing etiology to hemodynamic management, personalized therapy, and predicting intradialytic hypotension.

My current project. So much resistance, so much inertia. A lot of large fragile egos involved. preprints.org/manuscript/202…
