Q4: How have you fostered a sense of community in your classroom (in person or VLO) that encourages collaboration this year? #LakotaEdChat #WeAreLakota

A5- My students have overcome a lack of hands on labs this year in science by having more robust conversations about what they are observing as opposed to experiencing. In some ways it has made our communication stronger #LakotaEdChat

Q7: Think about all of the great ideas discussed here tonight... What is something from tonight’s chat that you plan to use going forward? #LakotaEdChat #WeAreLakota

A1: Digital citizenship is less about what not to do and more about choices and actions to create or reinforce the type of digital world we all want to live in. Its actions not rules. #LakotaEdChat

A2: Simply put, we need to drive the education of it. Being in an ISTE cohort this past fall really opened my own eyes to what D.C. is really all about. I feel so many people have the misconception that it is this huge set of intimidatingly rules. #LakotaEdChat

A3: I think we can model and teach this the same way we do anything else: Make it relatable! There are plenty of good (and bad) examples of this from people of power and influence. Teach from relevance and make it engaging for students! #LakotaEdChat

A4: I always look at the domain. Typically if its .org or .edu I feel pretty safe in trusting the material. If its just a .com then I will investigate the author or the site itself with a cross reference search. #LakotaEdChat

A5: I think we all have seen the power of social media; good or bad, when enough of a following is gained behind a person, cause, or initiative. Networking and gaining a following to do the same for education policy reform is as simple as sending/retweeting a tweet. #LakotaEdChat

A7: I think having a rotation of staff/grade levels for a "twitter takeover" for them to practice positive behaviors while also using it to model to their students and showcase what they are doing in the classroom for the week would be cool #LakotaEdChat
