Freshman Move-In Tip! Cal Poly's campus is hilly, and it'll be warm on move-in day! Wear comfy shoes, a hat and sunscreen to stay cool and protected. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Make your first day on campus as smooth as possible!

Freshman Move-In Tip! Pack light! It's tempting to bring everything you own, but you'll save time and energy by keeping it simple. Once you're in the dorm, you'll get a better idea of what you really need. Staying organized and avoiding overpacking will make move-in smoother.

First Year Tip! Take some time to explore campus and find your classes before the first day! It’ll save you stress, help you get familiar with the layout, and give you a chance to discover cool spots along the way.

Please be aware that the Amtrak (SLP) stop at Cal Poly will be suspended during Move-In Days, Sept. 17-18 and 20-22. If you're traveling on those dates, you'll need to head to the main SLO train station and then transfer to local transit, cab or rideshare. Safe travels!!

PARKING & CONSTRUCTION ALERT: K1, K2, and R1 parking lots will be closed. During move-In, we'll keep major roadways clear from Sept.15-21. We encourage faculty and staff to avoid the Grand Ave entrance on Sept. 17-18. For parking updates and info, visit afd.calpoly.edu/parking.
