Belinda Goodenough: “clinical Guidelines need to take the clients and clinicians perspective into account” 👏 Excited to tell you how we did this for the Australian Dementia Network - ADNeT Memory Clinic Guidelines in the #ADRF2022 Dementia Care Session at 10:55
So many different ideas from #ADRF2022 on how to improve the post-dx care for people with dementia in Australia. Thanks Lee-Fay Low and Matt Paradise for making us think about it. Post-dx care was definitely also one of the most contentious points in developing our Guidelines
Some highlights: Clients should be seen <90 days from referral, or <30 days for priority cases. Neuropsych assessment should be provided or made available, where appropriate. At least one feedback and one follow-up session should be provided APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists - PD
Just watching the brief Dementia Australia EDIE scenario of a carer - patient interaction scenario at the #ADRF2022 made me feel so stressed and anxious. Great training for everyone who engages with people with dementia. Really brings the different perspectives across!
