I can't remember the last time I renamed variables manually in #rstats. I always use my data dictionary for renaming! That way, if I ever need to update names in the future, I'm only updating once in my data dictionary, not in both my data dictionary and script. 🙌

The Fed needs to get rates down. I would do this with a 50 basis point cut in September because it is clear a 50 basis point cut is needed this fall. And they are balancing risks: right now the risk to the labor market is greatest. Cut 50 now & wait and see about later cuts.

Tbh I think that CN overcapacity and low electrolyser prices are a response to EU's overambitious electrolyser targets, rather than some nefarious state-led dumping policy. But it's also undeniable that CN firms enjoy certain advantages over EU. BNEF summarised it well.. (1/4)

So TIL Austria's carbon tax and rebate scheme explicitly pays you more if you live in a non-urban area under the argument that you're more dependent on cars, which disincentivizes you from reducing C02 emissions by moving to a city and taking public transit lol

Another exhibit how the energy transition, industrial policy, geopolitics, geoeconomics and finance create a nexus: getting better rates for green investments would allow EU producers playing to their strengths...
