Excited to share that our full paper, "Cross-Market E-Commerce Question Answering by Jointly Ranking Questions and Products," has been accepted at #SIGIR2023 SIGIR 2025 w/ Mohammad Aliannejadi , Hamed Bonab , @ekanou @[email protected] ποΈπΊπ¦ , James Allan, and Djoerd is on Mastodon π

The Radboud data science group, of which we are part of, was covered by the April edition of I/O magazine (NWO Nieuws). See the screenshots below for the article and our energetic group photoπ or check out the full publication here: ict-research.nl/wordpress/wp-cβ¦

I was interviewed for the April edition of I/O magazine (NWO Nieuws)π Check out the full article about our research group in the tweet below π x.com/informagus/staβ¦

Pre-print of our #SIGIR2023 paper is on arXiv: arxiv.org/abs/2305.01522 Safe Deployment for Counterfactual Learning to Rank with Exposure-Based Risk Minimization Shashank Gupta Harrie Oosterhuis Maarten de Rijke About reducing the chance that a learned policy is worse than the production system.

Today we had the pleasure of listening to a virtual talk from Harrie Oosterhuis about counterfactual learning to rank for search and recommendation. It was great to hear about some of his upcoming work that will also be presented this year at #sigir2023

Happy to share that our paper, "A Deep Generative Recommendation Method for Unbiased Learning from Implicit Feedback" with Harrie Oosterhuis Maarten de Rijke got accepted at the ICTIR 2023. We propose a modification to the VAE for RecSys model to account for the popularity bias in the dataset.

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of hosting Harrie Oosterhuis at our ShareChat ML Seminar. Really enjoyed his talk, and definitely learned a few new things! I was also informed we got the scoop of having the first video recording of this talk π check it out! youtube.com/watch?v=r6iq-eβ¦

Our #RecSys2023 full paper: A Lightweight Method for Modeling Confidence in Recommendations with Learned Beta Distributions with Harrie Oosterhuis has been accepted! ππ See you in Singapore! π

Excited about our #RecSys2023 paper acceptance: We propose using beta distributions to model user preferences. Our approach combines accurate confidence modelling, competitive predictive performance and minimal model complexity. Kudos to Norman Knyazev for brilliant work! π

Submit your extended abstract on causality, counterfactuals, decision making or fairness in #RecSys to our ACM RecSys workshop! We are looking forward to your submissions and presentations in our program.

On the afternoon session at #DIR2023 we hear from @[email protected] ποΈπΊπ¦ about OpenWebSearch.EU . A big hello to Djoerd is on Mastodon !

The ever impressive β¦@[email protected] ποΈπΊπ¦β© talking about Personal search engines..#dir2023

We wrap technical presentations at #DIR2023 with Harrie Oosterhuis digging deeper on counterfactual #LTR

Happy to share that our paper "Doing Personal LAPS: LLM-Augmented Dialogue Construction for Personalized Multi-Session Conversational Search" got accepted at #SIGIR2024 full paper track! π₯³ This is an amazing outcome of the collaboration between GRILL Lab and Informagus - Information Retrieval Research Group!
