My first first-author paper with Hans Op de Beeck & Haemy Lee Masson @hleemasson.bsky.social is now published in Frontiers in Neuroscience! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33… (open-access). Functional neural networks can be derived from several popular fMRI analyses, but how do they compare?

The 1st paper of my PhD is out today in Nature Communications! We show that word contexts can enhance letter representations in early visual cortex With David Richter Matthias Ekman, peter hagoort& @flodlan Paper: nature.com/articles/s4146… TL;DR? Let me unpack it in a few (or so) tweets👇

A new article with Ineke Pillet and Hans Op de Beeck. Our study shows that the observation of social touch, relative to non-social touch, elicits much more information exchange among key brain regions and networks implicated in social processing. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Thank you Psychology Today and Susan Krauss Whitbourne Ph.D. on this article on our recent findings (Hans Op de Beeck Ineke Pillet) on the social touch scene perception. This Is Your Brain on Social Distancing | Psychology Today psychologytoday.com/blog/fulfillme…

Very excited to share this open postdoc position with my supervisor, some wonderful colleagues ;), in the beautiful city of Leuven.

sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Excited to share our new study on affective touch in autism. Adults with autism received (un)pleasant touch during the MRI. Adults with autism showed reduced touch-dependent changes in brain connectivity. Hans Op de Beeck LBP #socialtouch #autism

I JUST CAME ACROSS THE MOST ADORABLE PEER-REVIEWED RESEARCH I HAVE EVER SEEN AND HAD TO MAKE A THREAD ABOUT IT HAVE AN AMAZING WEEKEND!!!!

Excited to share the latest preprint with @leylaisi We show that naturalistic social interaction perception recruits dedicated neural circuity in the STS and is a crucial dimension for social understanding. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Please RT: my lab has a salaried PhD student position available [bit.ly/3gv9X7z]. This project will use 7T computational neuroimaging of human vision to study the interactions between action, perception, and memory.

Excited to share my first first-author PhD paper about 'Comparing numerosity maps at 3T and 7T' where we showed though it's possible to reconstruct topographic numerosity maps at 3T, more data were required than at 7T. One 7T run has four times the predictive power of one 3T run.

Come do a (fully funded) PhD on human fear conditioning with bram vervliet and me, hosted by KU Leuven CLEP and BRAM. Feel free to reach out for further info. Also, do get in touch with current lab members to hear what we're like. Ad: kuleuven.be/personeel/jobs… Please RT!

We'll soon be looking for a postdoc to join our team! We have exciting projects lined up with densely-sampled fMRI at 7T! A passion for visual neuroscience, fun working in a team, strong fMRI experience, & good coding skills are useful. Starting date flexible. ✉️/DM me & pls RT!

For everyone at #ecvp2022 today, come join my talk at 2.15pm in cc2 about how selectivity to faces and words relate to each other and other categories according to 7T fMRI (or just come look at some pretty brain images)

Ineke Pillet (@inekepillet) 's Twitter Profile Photo

#SfN2022 Come see my poster this afternoon at board R10, showing, among other things, a consistent organization with 7T fMRI of the VWFA in relation to selectivity for hands.

Thanks #SfN2022 for the opportunity to present my research, it was a very fun and useful session. Thanks to everyone that came and listened, and for all your supportive feedback. 😁

Happy to share that my second article from my PhD has now been published, find it here: doi.org/10.1162/imag_a… It's a 7T fMRI study on the visual word form area.

The last study that I conducted during my PhD is now published, find it here: doi.org/10.1371/journa… We used 7T fMRI to investigate the hand and tool areas of the occipitotemporal cortex.
