It has almost been 3 weeks since our last bargaining session where the company said that they would *consider* scheduling additional bargaining sessions. We’re getting tired of waiting, we want a fair contract now!

A SGM Meeting will be held tomorrow from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the SFU Burnaby Campus (Bennett Library Room 7200). This SGM will be a continuation of the ongoing membership consultation regarding allocation of the damages paid to TSSU for the Voluntary Recognition Agreement.

We will be having a big rally on Wed, Oct 23 at 4:30 PM at LLoyd Center! This will be outside our collective bargaining venue at Lloyd Center, on the top level of the NW parking lot. Members have been meeting here with the company for nearly 2 years trying to get a contract. 1/2

We are bargaining today. Management promised an economic response today — for the first time in two years, will we be able to talk about our wages at the bargaining table? Right now, starting wage at NSM is $10 below the living wage in Portland-metro. Stay tuned!

We did not receive a response from the company on any of those articles, we continued to push through during the session. We will continue to bargain and engage with the company to hopefully reach a fair contract for all our members. Members will receive our full update soon.
