Tooele (UT)-55 Elko-51 Final. Elko comes out slow and can’t rally in the second half. Elko looked to bounce back quickly against Reno l, tip-off @ 7:30. RGJ preps

Elko finishes the Brent Stokes tournament 2-2. The wheels fell off in a blow out loss to Reno last night 62-26, but the Indians bounce back today with a 74-58 over Jordan (UT). RGJ preps

As of this morning:

Short handed Elko ends the Lake weekend 1-1. The Indians struggled in a loss against South Tahoe Friday night, but bounced back with a drubbing of Incline today. Elko is back at it next week with a trip to Debbie Smith and Truckee. RGJ preps

Elko sweeps in their second road trip in a row. The Indians down Debbie Smith 91-7, and follow up with a 69-34 drubbing of Truckee. Elko is in SLC next Saturday the 27th, followed by a trip South on the 29th & 30th. RGJ preps

Indians go 2-0 in Mesquite. Both ugly games against Enterprise from UT (41-40) and Panguitcg UT (62-51). Indians are back in action at Centennial Gym with league games this weekend against Sparks and Wooster. RGJ preps

Elko goes 2-0 on weekend in their final cross over games for the season. The Indians won big Friday against Sparks (66-26), and again on Today vs Wooster (75-43). Elko has some big ones next week to start league; Tues vs @SC, then Fri-Sat vs Fernley & Dayton at home. RGJ preps

Elko boys basketball has a major let down Tuesday night against rival SC in their first league game, falling in Double OT. Doesn’t get easier either, they have to bounce back this weekend against Fernley tonight and Dayton tomorrow. RGJ preps

RGJ preps Elko Daily FreePress Maybe not competitive BB, but @Raks57 and I paid $26 to watch 4 3A games to soak up small town vibes at the Wooster HS gym. Most impressive was (always) the Elko band, cheerleaders, and dance line. Maybe not the huge production of years past, but still very good.

Elko might put on the best show when it comes to sports. Cheer, dance, and band are always top notch.

The NIAA is playing its state basketball tournaments in high school gyms rather than arenas, where the cost can run as much as $100,000. reviewjournal.com/nevada-preps/c…

What a shame those arenas can’t open up their venues for two days for high schools athletes. Damn shame.
