One of my favourite birds in Singapore and a bird that has increased in numbers over recent years. The Hill Myna (Gracula religiosa) is famed for its ability to mimic sounds including the human voice. I always hear them before I see them.

A baby Long-tailed Macaque tucked safely under mother’s arm. These gorgeous babies are much like us. Curious little explorers but quick to rush back to the safety of mother’s embrace

I’ve found quite a few mousedeers this week. Another animal that I’m always really happy to spot. Smallest hoofed animal on the planet. Like a lanky Guinea pig.

This male Wagler’s Pit Viper was a tiny newborn. Just a twist of pipe cleaner. It was sharing a tree with a sibling. An adult viper will sit motionless as a person moves around it, but the little babies track every movement. I guess they’re programmed to see, grab, eat, repeat.

I love good worm and last night I spotted two new species for me. Two types of hammerhead flatworm. One caramel coloured beauty and another in graphite. Enjoy!

It was just another day in Singapore. I was out for a casual lunchtime walk when a romp of otters galloped by. I politely bid them a good afternoon and we got on with our day.
