Renal-cell carcinoma (RCC) diagnosis has shifted toward earlier stages. In this paper we analyzed 807 surgically treated RCC patients in Mexico (1980-2024) to evaluate stage migration patterns.

In 807 surgically treated RCC patients in Mexico (1980–2024), stage I cases rose (29.9→52.9%) while stage III–IV declined, with survival improving from 85.7→96.3%. Gains extend beyond early detection, highlighting advances in comprehensive RCC management.

In this paper our objective was to evaluate whether histological features help refine patient selection for adjuvant immunotherapy in those at intermediate- and high-risk groups.

We analyzed data from 136 patients with localized/locally advanced #KidneyCancer treated with nephrectomy who met the KEYNOTE-564 criteria. We found that sarcomatoid differentiation was significantly associated with the risk of recurrence (HR = 2.31; 95% CI, 1.03–5.18; p = 0.042)

Thus, patients with sarcomatoid features had a 50% recurrence rate compared to 16.7% in those without these features (p = 0.007). Our findings suggest that adjuvant immunotherapy decision based on histological characteristics may optimize outcomes and avoid overtreatment.
