Adam Ryan | NBA history podcaster Weird series. Part of me is still bitter about it because Lakers choked it away. And yet that Lakers team was not going anywhere and if they had won we donโ€™t get Suns-Bulls and one of the greatest Finals ever so ultimately Iโ€™m fine with the comeback.

An all-time iconic moment. Paul Westphal (RIP) spoke with such conviction. If that presser didn't motivate someone, nothing would.

In my journey, Iโ€™ve faced failure and adversity multiple times, but I never gave up. Despite the challenges, I persisted and learned from those experiences, refusing to quit. My resilience and determination drove me forward, turning setbacks into opportunities for growth.

April 30, 1980: Rookie Magic Johnson to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for a slam against Seattle during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

Magic had 20 PTS/10 AST/10 REB and Kareem had 38 PTS/11 REB/7 BLK/6 AST as the Lakers beat the Sonics, 111-105, and advanced to the NBA Finals.

Basketball history is fascinating. The Anaheim Amigos opened the ABA's inaugural season (1968) versus the Oakland Oaks. A team with a gent named Jim, who, as fate would have it, played for the ABL's Oakland Oaks earlier that decade. I certainly Hadnot known this.

Today's Treasure from my collection: It is good to see Julius Erving recognized at the 76ers playoff games, as he is true basketball royalty. Loved these ads & shoes. I think Dr. J is overshadowed more than he should be by Bird, Magic & Jordan.
