Friday, AJBriesemeisterToros students in my PBLWorks Broken Laws PBL got to hear from a Public Defender! He talked about being a lawyer, our rights that protect us, what happens when our legal system works and doesn't work, and what it's like to defend people accused of crimes.

Frederick Douglass was an abolitionist, preacher, author, presidential advisor, VP candidate and more—all after escaping slavery around the age of 20.

Excited to be chosen to speak at the TX Social Studies conference at Round Rock this November! I'll be speaking about how to engage students to get them to read difficult primary sources and upgrade their literacy.

I was really disappointed not getting to see 4QM Teaching at ESC 20, but I bought the book and am excited to bring what I learn to my department!

This summer has been full of surprises. I am appreciative of my time in Seguin ISD at AJBriesemeisterToros, and I will miss the incredible people I have had the priviledge of working with for the last 3 years. I am excited to continue teaching, and join the team at Leander MS !!

Day 1 Leander MS accomplished, and we THRIVED!! We talked food, family, anime, video games, maps, culture, and my 'why.' It always gets me thrilled to meet my students and see them get excited about the topics we get to discuss. It is going to be a great year! #1LISD

Why do we need government? Leander MS know how challenging setting up one can be! Students were deserted on an island and had to create a working civilization with rules and roles they would ALL agree to follow...without any teacher input! Amazing leaders energed!! #1LISD
