Sick of poor/non existant mobile phone coverage so set up a wireless bridge and 30 acre outdoor wifi from starlink at the house. 10 to 100x faster speeds within 500 metres of the wifi mount. Only costs 700 dollars total. Will be glad to see the end of the telstra reliance.

A solid week for rainfall across Australia. Very welcome rain across parts of VIC and SA, putting growers in the race at least for this season. Follow up rain will be essential given low soil moisture levels. EP didnt get much which is hard to see. Fingers crossed more to come!

Canola values have remained steady at around AUD820/mt track Kembla for June 2025 and new crop around AUD810 - 830/mt track Kembla. Canola prices are still very good compared to wheat and barley and this is encouraging for growers who have planted canola this season.

This would be great news for Australian #canola! reuters.com/world/china/au… For context, China has been a big buyer of our canola before, but its very patchy and they have been absent for the last few years.

Despite the high rate of grain feeding, the benchmark prices in Melbourne are at close to historical averages. Current stocks of uncommitted canola seed are low and the prices reflected in our tables trail the new-crop prices by $20 a tonne.

China has imposed a 75.8% anti-dumping duty on Canadian canola, accusing Canada of unfair pricing due to government subsidies. This move, effective August 14, 2025, escalates tensions from Canada’s 2024 tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
