Cardiff Castle will glow red on Tues 6 May as the city marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day. There's a picnic in the Castle grounds open to all on Bank Holiday Monday 11-5, and a ‘Victory Days' exhibition Museum of Cardiff | Amgueddfa Caerdydd too. (Know someone in this June '45 pic from Heath Park?)

Very sad to see that Little Man Coffee is closing its Bridge Street cafe – a stalwart, a constant, and a symbol of indie Cardiff. (The wife's going to be absolutely gutted.) Rob should be very proud. "It's not the end of the world – just different to the one we'd hoped for."

Did you know that Techniquest is celebrating 30 years in Cardiff Bay? It opened 1 May 1995. That makes me feel very old indeed. I remember it being in The Hayes.
