I wanted an easy, portable project for the weekend. So I picked out some colours of Fleece Artist Organic Socks yarn from my stash and cast on a pair of socks, ready to play with some stripes—my favourite go-to relaxing project when I just want to play.

I have sent out my newsletter featuring the Laima cowl pattern, part of my Latvia 100 Collection. I included a number of yarn kits with Brown Sheep NatureSpun wool. These are the colour combos that are left. Message me if you are interested in one of these.

What to do when you don’t know if you will have enough yarn for the blue stripes on both socks? Play yarn chicken by working from both ends of the ball of blue yarn—at the same time—to try and get as many blue stripes as possible for each sock.

This is how bgreyt on Ravelry.com described her experience with working the Brickwork scarf pattern: “I haven’t done much lace stitch, so I think it was a good introduction to an open pattern. I’m really happy how it turned out.” Yarn: Handmaiden Fine Yarn Maidenhair

Summer may be over in the Northern Hemisphere but that does not mean the end of lace knitting. The Waves of Lace pattern can be layered or worn on its own. Here fcp on Ravelry has worked her stunning version in Claudia Hand Painted Yarns Linen Lace. ravelry.com/patterns/libra…

Some more images from my recent trip to Newfoundland, which will serve for inspiration in the days to come. I promise not to stay away so long next time.

I have been having fun swatching and trying out different colourways with this slipstitch pattern—with my leftover St. Denis “Boreale” yarn.

It is fascinating to see how other knitters interpret my designs. Here knitknutty on Ravelry paired a solid coloured yarn with a multicoloured one and worked this stunning, unique version of my Crescendo pattern. Crescendo Pattern: ravelry.com/patterns/libra…

I picked up some of this bulky, fun yarn—Fleece Artist Crimp, 100% merino wool—and am planning to try it out for some festive knitting.

There has been a dramatic run on my Bermuda Scarf pattern over the past day and I am wondering if someone is hosting a workshop or something similar. Anyone know? Bermuda Scarf is part of the International Year of the Scarf Club. Bermuda Scarf: ravelry.com/patterns/libra…

This beautiful version of my Pink Lady scarf pattern is currently on display at LY Yarns in the Halifax Hydrostone Market. It is always exciting to see how different a pattern can look when worked in different colours.
