As we prepare for #UgandaCensus2024 , I am privileged to attend the 55th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission. The Commission is the highest body in the international statistical system where global statistical standards are considered and approved.

I, together with my team paid a courtesy call on the Lord mayor His Lordship Erias Lukwago to update him on the #UgandaCensus2024 activities notably the Listing and Mapping exercise in Greater Kampala metropolitan area (GKMA). Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA)

The lord mayor consented to our request for his championing role, pledging his support and that of his team to the Census programme. He reiterated that lack of quality Statistics affects City planning which in turn impacts quality of service delivered to City dwellers.

Our team led by the National Chief Statistician/ Executive Director and Census Commissioner Dr.Chris N Mukiza this afternoon paid a cordial visit to the Lord Mayor His Lordship Erias Lukwago to update him the the #UgandaCensus2024 activities.

Our Executive Director Dr.Chris Mukiza specifically made reference to the population dynamics of Kampala which has a high number of a floating population ( mobile) , also a reason why the greater Kampala metropolitan area (GKMA) is being Listed last in the ongoing household Listing
