This is obvious and prevalent today in the UK it’s pretty much a shibboleth to point out and commend any possible safer options.

It may be new technology but it is the same age old patent bullshit. There’s no part of this that should be patentable.

We are constantly adding new committers. It’s very important to ensure project health. Sounds interesting? Checkout “How to become and committer” on the webpage as a first step: kafka.apache.org/contributing.h… And let us know if you have questions. We are happy help.

18/ Helping these projects isn’t a statement of superior virtue, it’s just a winning strategy. Our startup competitors should join us in making them great!

Pull requests are great for low-trust environments like OSS with many external contributors. For stable teams e.g. in-house, I feel that they are too wasteful of a process and slow. Make sure to have alignment on the big picture, anything else can also be improved after merging.

Property is the institution humans have to deal with scarcity. Information is immaterial, not scarce, and so it does not need to be property, and making into property violates the property of others, as I discuss in Principles of Economics, screenshots in the next tweet.
