At the 2024 #ICRCPIIAwards, the first prize in the Best Article category was awarded to Shahid Judge Shahid Judge for their piece, ‘How para archer Sheetal Devi embraced who she is to find international success’, which appeared in Scroll.in.

The prestigious jury at the 18th#ICRCPIIAwards included Jaya Shreedhar, Kavitha Muralitharan, Rakhi Ghosh, Himanshu Vyas, and Madhavi Latha.

We were delighted to host Fathimath Himya, SG, Maldivian Red Crescent. The MRC's work on gender inclusivity and youth programs, amongst others, is inspiring. We will continue to serve communities and further the mutual commitment of ICRC and Maldivian Red Crescent to strengthen the RCRC Movement.

It was inspiring to listen to Fathimath Himya how best the MRC is trying to reach vulnerable communities in the Maldives. We congratulate Maldivian Red Crescent for its recent celebration of sucessfully completing 15 years and remain proud to be a partner.

Three of our staff members in Ukraine were killed today after shelling hit the site of a planned frontline aid distribution in the Donetsk region & two more colleagues were wounded. Our hearts are broken as we mourn this loss & care for the injured. ➡️bit.ly/3zjtROH

This morning, I had the pleasure of meeting Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in New Delhi. His words of peace and spirituality were inspiring at a time when the world faces challenges, and we look forward to working together on humanitarian issues that contribute to our efforts for peace. The @icrc_nd team, led by the HoRD Kedir Awol Omar, had a constructive meeting at JGU. There was a fruitful discussion on future collaborations, areas of mutual interest and possible convergences.

I was pleased to meet Dr C Rajkumar, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, Registrar and the faculty at JGU today. I am looking forward to our collaboration on research, teaching, and practice in humanitarian action, law, and policy.

In times of war, neutrality is not indifference. It is a deliberate way of working to be able to help without taking sides, allowing us to reach those who need it most.
