It was an honour to write this paper with Neha Mishra published by International and Comparative Law Quarterly. We examine how concepts of international community, solidarity and community values, which, we argue, fall under the lens of Ubuntu in Africa, can inform digital trade rule making in Africa.

An absolute pleasure to collaborate with Kholofelo Kugler for this article in International and Comparative Law Quarterly, arguing the relevance of a community and solidarity lens for digital trade rulemaking under the AfCFTA. Available open access: bit.ly/4fxYxLK.

Thanks to Neha Mishra and Kholofelo Kugler for this examination of whether community values could offer a normative foundation for rules governing digital trade, with a case study of the AfCFTA inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu. Open access 👉bit.ly/3YOoJLh

Looking forward to engaging with the piece here from Joshua Paine. One of the remaining outstanding conceptual issues to be addressed in the UNCITRAL work on investment dispute settlement reform.
