Today, Iceland celebrates Women’s Rights Day, commemorating June 19, 1915, when women over 40 won the right to vote and stand for parliament. We honor their legacy by continuing the fight: against gender-based violence, for equal pay, and for equality for all women and girls.

Iran‘s nuclear program is of great concern and we urge the leadership to negotiate in earnest to put an end to it. We must avoid further escalation in the region. I repeat: International law must guide us—diplomacy and dialogue are the only way forward.
