There is a completely separate term for “infectious particle on a surface”. That term is “fomite”.

Sometimes, some respiratory droplets can become fomites. But fomites can also come from skin infections, stomach infections, fungal infections, etc.

Trying to understand breakdowns in communication during the pandemic. We tried to write a publication with Saskia Popescu and Angie Rasmussen. They backed out when I refused to eliminate the word 'airborne'. Here are their exact words: 'We believed that the goal of this' (1/)

When my son was dx with prediabetes last week, the dx came from a locum. Imagine my surprise when she said, 'I think it's from covid, wouldn't be surprised if they admit it in the next couple years, I'm seeing it all over the country.'

My best HC experiences are with locums.

We tested pos. For the first time in 4 yrs. Send help and advice 😭

I have been on ice for about two years-- I haven't done much of any science communication-- that's because I was struck with Long COVID. It took me two years to get back into being able to do things at the capacity that I used to prior to 2022. But I'm coming back swinging 💪🏿🔥8/

The risks from drinking raw milk are, in fact, well known. There's a good fucking reason we pasteurize dairy products.

“Unknown” =/= “Low Risk”

Ignorance doesn’t equivocate to no risk. It only means OBLiVIOus to the potential of risk.
