A little late to these but at the Scratch Night at the Sanctuary Theatre / Bright Umbrella tonight. Going to be a monthly thing and if it is as good as this evening will be great.

Opening night of #esafest24 and the Global Melodies concert from the Eastside Choir and special guest Utropiks (good!) - great mix of music and an impressive showing from the choir, not just because they were singing in several languages

2nd day of #esafest24 and theatre with Whiskey Wars but afterwards a lovely walk along the quiet of the Lagan to get to the Glider - the night air and the twilight, the skyline and the lit up buildings with the pulse and rhythm of city life all around - beautiful.

Getting too old and much too fat for 3 events in one day and being out 11h but at a talk by the ever interesting Peter McCabe #esafest24, Touch of Evil at the QFT (Wow!) and two Edinburgh Fringe bound productions from Bright Umbrella (both good).

Day 5 of #esafest24 and an interesting talk on Ulster Scots literature in East Belfast. Always lairy of monolithic stories of people or places but this talk pulled at the roots of some of the identities in the palimpsest of our local history.

Day 6 of #esafest24 and after the powerful Three Pay Days a stimulating and lively discussion on writing home with Jan Carson & Aimée Walsh, expertly curated by Hilary Copeland. Thanks all.

Day 7 of #esafest24 and a concert of classic country from The Boondocks at the H&W Club. Several of those gorgeous moments when the audience starts singing along unbidden with the song - harmony, communion and shared joy.

At the QFT for My Neighbor Totoro, so full of wonder and warmth, but home by the Glider unfortunately, rather than Catbus. Still buzzing though.

Day 8 of #esafest24 and back to the H&W Club for songs on voyages and places with Anthony Toner Matt McGinn Ciara O'Neill Music and John Mccullough - mix of own songs and covers and a sense of the musicians having fun and creating together live made an excellent night

Day 9 of #esafest24 and The Picture House from christina nelson at the new temporary home of Strand Arts Centre. This was wonderful - a fun mix of songs and cinema memories that left everybody beaming 👏👏👏
