Today on R4 yet again platforms Robert Jenrick, who had the gall to call for honesty whilst spewing out half-truths and distortions. The man is an evil little scrote.

The missus is away, so it’s time for a rip-roaring Monday night painting the town red. Already arranged to meet a friend -it’s almost time to party like it’s 1999. Barnes, here we come!

🧵 🚨 The #MAGA Blueprint. A coordinated political project is reshaping Britain in the image of Trump’s MAGA movement. Reform UK—fuelled by wealthy donors, ideologically aligned think tanks, and a network of right-wing media—has ambitions unlike anything in modern UK politics.

Good old BBC News (UK) . Discussing the Epping hotel ruling who did they talk to? The moron Philp and the evil scrote Tice. Well done on the balance, there.

They want women back in the kitchen. They want homosexuals back in the closet. They want foreigners back where they came from. They want the poor to be downtrodden and uncared-for. They want children to be denied the truth of history. You know who they are.

Re-reading an Ed McBain 87th Precinct novel (I had read them all years ago). It’s from his later period, and so far, apart from the plot, the sheer, quiet artistry is stunning.

So, neither Nick Robinson nor his colleague on Radio 4 could bring themselves to say Rayner has done nothing wrong, which she clearly hasn’t. Why not?

Ian Payn (@ianpayn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So, I’m getting the clear message that Rayner has done nothing wrong, but it’s still her fault for doing something that the Telegraph and the Conservatives could twist to make it look wrong. Some people should set aside a moment for introspection…

BBC News last night interviewed a “flagger”. At no point did they ask him how he was funded, or who was paying for all those flags. So…👇

Nadine Dorries. Absconded from Parliament to appear on a TV game show; was not on top of her brief as Culture Secretary (that’s putting it kindly); appeared to be drunk in Parliament; left her constituents unrepresented for a year after resigning. What a catch.

Conservative cabinet minister resigns: total radio silence as everybody falls over themselves to distance themselves. Rayner resigns: outpourings of sympathy, support and gratitude.

Yet again on BBC News (UK) Badenoch claims Rwanda was a “deterrent”. Nobody challenges this (there is no evidence) nor asks exactly how many people per year would be sent there (bugger all).

Bit surprised that Mandelson hasn’t resigned. He’s not a stupid man, he must know which way the wind is blowing. Yes, he’s clearly been targeted, but the basis of the leaked material shows him to have displayed poor judgment, in even the best possible interpretation . Time to go.

Microsoft to invest $30b in the UK. Good. Creates jobs etc, etc. But it isn’t a gift. Microsoft is a corporation, and they’re investing. They will be expecting to take much more than $30b out of the UK by way of return. I’m not saying it’s bad, but nor is it Pennies from Heaven.
