The Northern Waterthrush at Heybridge, Essex this morning showed so much better than expected. Difficult to trump a showy midwinter yank passerine within an hour from home.

Arrived late to the party but managed to see the Black Scooter at Holkham today after been over the border for the Eagle 🦅

The adult drake NORTH AMERICAN BLACK SCOTER was still offshore in Holkham Bay today but is extremely challenging to find. It is with at least 5,000 Common Scoter and is at least a mile offshore. Very black plumage with a distinct cocked tail and extensive orange bill. Not easy

My plans today was to go to Clay and see some tundra ring Plovers and stuff ended up with a Booted Eagle which gave us a bit of a runaround 😀
