Long couple of weeks, Jill had to have surgery and did not do well in recovery. Was not eating and she was often sick. However two days ago we turned a corner, and she’s eating again….and with gusto….so here she is watching others eat with a great deal of interest!

Still trying to find out about my great-grandfather who we knew as Henry Elgin/Algan Rivers (pictured). One clue is my Y-DNA haplogroup which is unusual I-FT406278. Anyone else in that haplogroup?

Bit of a challenging summer for the pups. Jill had a stomach tumour which was luckily benign, and Jack had to have an eye removed because of a tumour. Both now doing fine.

This summer saw both Jack and Jill have surgery, however both have recovered - Jill from a stomach tumour and Jack from an eye tumour - both thankfully benign. At 12 1/2 still going strong. Nearly 12 years ago we adopted them from Battersea Old Windsor.

Today we lost Jill. She was nearly 13. We adopted her and her brother, Jack, from Battersea Old Windsor just over 12 years ago. She will be missed terribly.

This will irk a few but if you want “free speech” you accept that others may disagree!
